OMAN
April 2022
We arrived in Muscat to spend 3 days discovering the capital of the country and its surroundings. Here, we explored the great Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, which contains the second-largest hand-woven Iranian carpet in the world. We also discovered the wonderful underwater world of the Gulf by scuba diving, tasted Omani food, and enjoyed sailing among dolphins.
We continued our route along the coast to Ras Al Jinz, passing through incredible wadis and the historic city of Sur. From there, we went to the Sharqiya desert to drive between dunes, relax, and enjoy spectacular sunsets. The next stop was the forts of Jibreen, Nizwa, and Bahla (UNESCO heritage sites), which were simply spectacular. Free-roaming camels were everywhere.
The last stop was the Al Hajar Mountains, where we did a trek with views of Jebel Shams and Wadi Ghul. The winding roads with spectacular views and goats everywhere are really hard to forget
Mom & son spinner dolphins (Bandar Al Khairan reserve, Oman).
